James A. Bargasse, 74, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 12, 2024.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Earle and Mary (Andrade) Bargasse, he lived in New Bedford his whole life.

James enjoyed hanging out with his friends, going to the South End Beach, and working out at the YMCA. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for many years. James worked at the New Bedford Yacht Club and Better Community Living for many years.

Survivors include his children, Matthew Centeio-Bargasse of Baltimore and Mikele Bargasse of New Bedford; his brother Martin Conceicao; and his grandchildren, Avery, Tegan, Caleb, and Tyson

His visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 22 from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
