James J. Neumayer, 79, of New Bedford died Wednesday February 1, 2012 at Hallmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Merkl) Neumayer, he lived in Philadelphia before moving to New Bedford in 1986.

Mr. Neumayer was formerly employed as an electronics repairman.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He is survived by several siblings and other relatives in the Philadelphia area.

His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
