James Patrick Neville, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. He was the husband of Sandra D. (Avila) Neville for 37 years.

Born in Taunton, son of the late Richard and Margaret Ann (Newhall) Neville, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.

Jim enjoyed watching golf and football especially the Patriots. He liked fishing, playing Spades, gardening, and taking care of his terrarium and amazon tree frogs. He loved his family. Jim was a proud member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He worked at the Veterans Transition House for many years before working as the General manager at Sea Gas.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra; his children, Karen Levasseur and her husband Jamie of New Bedford, Danielle Linhares and her husband Kevin of Dartmouth, James Neville II and his wife Lizeth of New Bedford, and Aaron James Neville and his fiancée Jessie Fernandez of New Bedford; his brothers, Richard Neville, David Neville, and Christopher Collins; his grandchildren, James Oliver, Shaun Oliver, Colton Linhares, Isabella Neville, and Penelope Neville; his Godchildren, Quinn Rodriguez, Baily Rodriguez, and Kortney Housewright; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brother Brian Neville.

Jim's visiting hours will be held Sunday, February 23 from 2-6 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 park St., New Bedford. His Funeral will be held on Monday at 10 AM in the Funeral Home and burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
