James E. Pallatroni, 94, of Hutchinson Island, Florida, formerly of New Bedford, passed away Thursday June 6, 2024 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home.  He was the husband of the late Pearl M. (Lawler) Pallatroni.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Eugene E. and Theresa V. (Fanning) Pallatroni, he lived in New Bedford for many years.  He had also previously resided in Enfield, NH and wintered in Hutchinson Island before moving there permanently.

Jim was formerly employed as an equipment installer for New England Telephone Company for many years until his retirement.

He was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School and New Bedford Textile School where he received his certificate in Mechanical Drafting.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by five children, Nora Marinelli and her husband Robert of New Bedford, Lawrence Pallatroni and his wife Kathleen of Dartmouth, Patrick Pallatroni and his wife Judith of Bedford, NH, Margaret O'Reilly and her husband Kevin of Meriden, NH, and Nicholas Pallatroni and his partner Stephanie Mitchell of Fairhaven; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Joseph Pallatroni, grandfather of the late Kevin Marinelli, and brother of the late Eugene Pallatroni, Jr. and Leonard Pallatroni.
