James R. Roy

James R. Roy, 47, of Fairhaven passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.

James grew up in Pawtucket and Cumberland, Rhode Island, and cherished his family above all else. He worked for more than 20 years as a produce manager at Trucchi's Supermarket and later at Shaw's Supermarket for over a year as a produce clerk.

James loved family vacations, especially his annual trips to Orlando, Florida, with his former spouse and son to enjoy Halloween Horror Nights, a tradition they shared for over 20 years. He also had a love for music, baseball, football, bowling and spending time with family and friends.

James is survived by his son, Dean Roy; his former spouse and best friend, Monica Roy (Dean); his parents, Robert and Doris Roy (Boulay); two sisters, Nicole Niccoli and her husband Eric and Amanda Ward and her husband Dan; two nephews, Tyler and Mason Niccoli; his niece, Sophia Ward; and his four dogs, Patch, Chewie, Vader, and Fighter.

James leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will forever be cherished by the people who loved him. His laughter, his love of family, his adventures to Orlando, and the special moments shared together will remain in their hearts. He will be missed more than words can say and always remembered.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at Mikey B's Restaurant, 989 Victoria St., New Bedford, between 2pm-6pm, to enjoy music and share happy memories of him throughout his life.
