James "Jimmy" Wareing, 86, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. He was a longtime New Bedford resident before spending the last decade in Dartmouth.

Jimmy loved to be with people and around activities. The family jokingly called him the Mayor of the South End, as he knew everybody. His days would be filled with long walks, bus rides, watching construction sites, and sitting at the beach.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Kathy Booth, Debbie Griffin, Mary Neumann, Susan Ledoux, Bruce Molina, Joseph Rego, and Donna Crumley; and his sister-in-law, Lula Wareing.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Florence (Morrow) Wareing; and his siblings, Mary Rego and William, Harry, and John Wareing.

His graveside service was held privately. In lieu of flowers, please buy yourself a coffee and sit by the beach. Jimmy would have liked that.
