Janice Roderiques

Janice (Pina) Roderiques of New Bedford died unexpectedly in her home on Thursday December 25, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Rose "Babe" Pina and the late Antone "Mickey" Pina.

 A New Bedford resident most of her life, she is survived by her sister Diane Johnson, her partner Manuel Roderiques, her son Jeffrey Roderiques, her daughter Jennifer Roderiques and two granddaughters, Amara and Avree Roderick with whom she enjoyed spending time with. She was also the sister of the late Cheryl "Lee" Pina. She had many nieces and nephews and favorite cousins. 

Janice had worked at PACE Head Start for over 50 years as the senior administrative assistant manager until her retirement. 

She was an excellent shopper and a candid person. You always knew where you stood with her! She also loved a winning scratch ticket and traveling to Aruba and to the Dominican Republic were among her favorites. She especially enjoyed cooking her munchupa which was enjoyed by many. 

She will be missed by her family and friends. 

Her funeral service will be held on Monday January 5th at 11 am at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday January 4th from 1-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to her charity of choice to St Jude's Children's Hospital or the local New Bedford PACE Head Start program.
