Jean (Saunders) Tomms, 53, of New Bedford died Thursday June 11, 2015 suddenly at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Lois J. (Hunter) Saunders and Albert E. Saunders, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

Jean was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Kinyon-Campbell Business School.

She is survived by her daughter, Kara J. Gauthier; her sisters, Jill Abramson and Jane Saunders-Mills; her grandchildren, Cody and Lexi; and nieces and nephews.


She was the sister of the late Joan Saunders.

Her visiting hours will be on Wednesday June 17, 2015 from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by a prayer service at 7 PM. A private family burial will be held in Rural Cemetery.
