On February 11, 2025, Jeffrey P. Mercure, 57, of New Bedford peacefully passed away following a prolonged and brave struggle with kidney disease. Jeff shared nearly 19 cherished years of marriage with his beloved wife, Leslie K. Mercure. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Cameron J. Mercure and Christian W. Mercure, as well as his furry companion, Chase.

Jeff was the son of the late Alfred S. Mello, with whom he had a very close relationship. His mother was Carole Whittaker. He is survived by his siblings, Ralph Mercure, Robin Mercure, Keith Mercure, and Christopher Mercure.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Jeff spent most of his life in New Bedford, where he worked for the New Bedford Public Schools until his retirement. Jeff found joy in golfing, traveling with his family, and embracing life's moments. He truly was the life of the party.

Jeff was very proud of the strong and loving bond he had with his wife and sons, which will remain in their hearts and memories forever.  Jeff will be missed by his family more than words can ever express.
