Jerry L. Platt, 66, of Fairhaven died August 6, 2010 unexpectedly at home.
Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late Albert and Lillie Mae (Barnes) Platt, he lived in New Bedford and Fairhaven.
He was formerly employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing and was a caddy at Hawthorn Country Club.
Mr. Platt served in the U.S. Army during the Vietman War.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine (McCoy) Platt; 2 sons Jeffrey Platt and Jerry Platt, Jr.; a daughter, Amanda Platt; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters and a brother.
His visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 15th from 4-8 PM followed by his Funeral Service Sunday at 8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. His graveside service will be held on Monday, August 16th at 11 AM in Rural Cemetery.
