Joan M. Cambra, 72, of New Bedford died Sunday October 26, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the companion of Antone C. Ramos.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Ernest Cambra and Rose E. (Tatro) Jarvis, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.

Ms. Cambra was formerly employed as a sorter for Columbia Cables.

Survivors include her companion; three granddaughters, Benvinda, Michelle and Karen-Ann; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was the mother of the late Karen-Ann Gomes, grandmother of the late Ann-Marie Gomes, and sister of the late Thelma Cambra.
