Joan (Wignall) Desrosiers, 90, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 7, 2025. She was the wife of the late Paul Desrosiers.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Frederick and Ada (Connor) Wignall, she was a 1952 graduate of New Bedford High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and was top 10 in her graduating class. Joan was formerly employed by New England Telephone Company retiring as a network administration supervisor with 33 years of service.

In her younger years she enjoyed golf, swimming, boating, sports, dancing, and cards. She was a communicant of the former St. Mary's Church, now St. Gabriel the Archangel in New Bedford.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Khara Silvia and her husband Matthew of Somerset;
her grandson Jamie Desrosiers and his wife Renae of New Bedford; her great-granddaughter Alexis Bettencourt; and great-grandsons, Cobi and Tyler Desrosiers; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her son, James P. Desrosiers; an infant daughter Christine Marie; and her two sisters, Eileen Rounseville and Patricia Dainty.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 10th at 10 AM in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish Church, 343 Tarklin Hill Rd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
