Joan E. Swift

Joan E. Swift, 83, of Freetown, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 29, 2026. She was the wife of Charles P. Swift, Jr for 64 years.

Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Eaton) Radziewicz, she lived in Freetown most of her life.

Joan was an avid gardener. She enjoyed cooking, reading, cross stitching and being with her family. For many years she owned Windy Acres farm with her husband where she liked riding horses and going to fairs. Joan was a fashionista and was regularly found online shopping and putting together outfits.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; her daughters, Charlene Swift and her significant other Jim Staples, and Elizabeth Andrade; her grandchildren, Jacob Swift and his wife Ksea, Christian Cabral and his wife Savanah Seay, and Rebecca Fisher and her husband Kris; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Emily, and Avah Swift; her sister Deborah Goncalves; and her sister in law Joyce Ruffley.

She is predeceased by her son Michael Swift; and her sister Charlotte Fontaine.

Private burial will be held in Acushnet Cemetery.
