Joann E. (Frates) Poirier, 72, of New Bedford passed away Monday July 29, 2019 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Mary Ann (Farley) Frates, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

She is survived by her son, Lance L. Poirier and her brother, Thomas Frates.

She was the mother of the late Shawn L. Poirier.
