Joanne Mary Gonzales

Joanne Mary (Goguen) Gonzales, 83, of New Bedford died May 16, 2026 at Vantage of New Bedford after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Gerard and Lillian (Galant) Goguen, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

She enjoyed Bingo, sewing, Carrie Underwood, Minions, collecting figurines and animals.

Survivors include her 3 grandchildren, Jade Gonzales and her husband Zaxery Gonzales of New Bedford, Kristin Gonzales of New Bedford and Alyssa Gonzales of New Bedford; sister, Jacqueline Machado of New Bedford; a brother, Paul Goguen of New Bedford; 2 great-grandchildren, Phoenix LeBlanc and Abby LeBlanc; and several nieces and nephews,

She was the mother of the late William Gonzales and the sister of the late Jerry Goguen.

Her Funeral Service will be private.
