Joanne M. (Demoranville) Mello, 65, of New Bedford died Wednesday December 9, 2015 at home after a long illness.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Alice G. (Riley) Kates and Leonard I. Demoranville, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

Joanne was always in love with her music.

She is is survived by her companion, Bert Silveira; her son, Jonathan E. Costa; and her granddaughter, Katelyn Costa.

She was the sister of the late Leonard Demoranville, Jr.
