Joeya C. (Tansey) Spooner, 75, of New Bedford died Friday March 25, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha L. (Miller) Tansey, she lived in New Bedford and Cape Cod for most of her life.

Mrs. Spooner was a former volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital and at Nichols House Nursing Home in Fairhaven.

Survivors include three sons, Alden Tobey Spooner, Jr. of Orleans, MA, Karl K. Spooner of Fairhaven, and Mark W. Spooner of New Bedford; a daughter, Stephanie DeMontigny of Harwich; a sister, Orealette Eastey of Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Her Funeral will be private. Visiting hours are omitted.
