John J. Borges, III, 65, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, May 13, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an accident.

A long-time resident of Fairhaven, John was born in New Bedford to the late John J. Borges, II and Lorriane Williams. He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts caring for disabled persons. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Jeremy Borges of New Bedford and Kristopher Borges of Swansea. He loved to hunt and was an avid coin collector. Above all he enjoyed being with his family as much as possible.

In addition to his two sons, he is survived by seven grandchildren, Leigh-Anna, Lynnse, Merandia, Macie, Calleigh, Jeremy Jr, and Cole Borges; four sisters, Donna Robichaud, Darlene Rymszewicz, Lorri Borges, and Amy Sineiro; four brothers, Snake S.W. Borges, Jimmie Borges, Kevin Borges, and Darren Borges; and numerous nieces and nephews.
