John J. Busnengo, 95, of New Bedford died December 14, 2017 at Sacred Heart Home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Carmela (Trombetta) Busnengo.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Peter and Lucia (Santia) Busnengo, he was raised in Cambridge and lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Busnengo was formerly employed by Pyrofax Gas for over 35 years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Andrews-Dahill Post 1531.
He enjoyed travel.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Edward Busnengo of Dartmouth; a daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Busnengo of Fairhaven; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Busnengo, Kayla Milka, Alex Busnengo and Nina Busnengo; 4 great-grandchildren, Jayden, Elise, Max and Curtis.
He was the father of the late Peter Busnengo.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 18th at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His family will receive guests on Monday morning from 10 - 11 AM prior to his service. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
