John F. Medeiros, Jr., 72, of New Bedford died October 2, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Doris (Taylor) Ruhsam of Sun City, Fl and the late John F. Medeiros, he was raised in Dartmouth and lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Medeiros was formerly employed by the Town of Dartmouth Water Department for 30 years until retirement.
He enjoyed art, photography, reading, war history, stamp collecting and the ocean.
Survivors include his mother; 2 daughters, Wendy Medeiros of Dunedin, FL and Jenny Langlois of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Richard Medeiros and his wife Helen of Rochester and Ronald Medeiros of New Bedford; a grandson, Brett Jennings; 2 great-grandchildren, Landon Jennings and Aria Jennings; and several nieces and nephews.

His private arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
