John A. Viera, 68, of New Bedford died Monday February 22, 2016 at home. He was the husband of Roseline A. (Rogers) Viera.

Born in Framingham, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Viera) Sylvia, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.

Mr. Viera was formerly employed as a maintenance worker for New Bedford Housing Authority.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Raymond Sylvia of New Bedford; a sister, Nancy Sewall of Cape Cod; and three grandchildren, Tyshanna, Kyla, and Anthony.

He was the father of the late John A. Viera, Jr. and David W. Viera.
