Jorge Eduardo Andrade, 51, of New Bedford passed away Friday July 25, 2025.

Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Carlota Pereira Baptista and Elder "Dje Dje" Andrade, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.  He was a graduate of New Bedford High School where he was a member of the soccer team.

Jorge was a talented chef who worked at various area restaurants including Antonio's Restaurant in New Bedford.  He was very passionate about the art of cooking.

Jorge was an extremely personable individual who was well known and loved by all that had the pleasure to meet him. He was very generous and had a great sense of humor. He also loved watching movies.

He is survived by his son, Nathan Andrade; his siblings, Palmira Duarte and her husband John, Elizabeth Andrade, Eder Gomes, and Viriato Gomes; his aunts, Ida Smith, Antonia Fortes, Maria Gomes, Vitalina Gomes, Natalia Correia, and Maria Miranda; his uncle, Armando Andrade; a nephew and several nieces; and many cousins and friends.

In accordance with his wishes, funeral services will be private. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
