Jorge Vega, 68, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 22, 2025. He was the husband of Aida Luz (Soto) Vega for over 50 years.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, son of the late Nelson and Benilda Vega, he was raised in Chicago before moving to New Bedford.

Jorge enjoyed weightlifting, watching western movies, shopping, scratch tickets and going to the casino. He liked sitting on the porch with his friends and neighbors.

Jorge worked for the Clark Griffith Cranberry company for many years.

Survivors include his wife Aida; his children, Elizabeth Vega of Springfield, MA, Jorge Lee Vega and his wife Linda of Dartmouth, and Raymond Vega of New Bedford; five siblings; his grandchildren, Brian Jorge Pacheco, Chynna Elizabeth Pacheco, Shyla Marie Vega, Jorge Lee Vega, Jr., and Isabella Rose Vega; and many nieces and nephews.

His visiting hours will be Thursday May 29, 2025 from 10 AM to Noon in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St. followed by his Funeral Service in the Funeral Home at Noon and burial in Rural Cemetery.
