Jose J. Baptista, 92, of Fairhaven died October 5, 2015 at home.
He was the husband of the late Adelina J. (Perry) Baptista.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Joao and Maria (Silva) Baptista, he lived in New Bedford and Fairhaven most of his life.
He was a member of the International Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Baptista was formerly employed by Exxon Corporation on various tankers for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include a sister, Auta Senna of East Providence; 3 sisters-in-law, Ella Perry of Fairhaven, Anna Perry of New Bedford and Florence Brown of Maryland; a brother-in-law, Henry Perry of New Bedford; his aunt, Ana D'Ercole of Cranston, RI; 2 nephews; and many cousins.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 9th at 10 AM in the International Church of the Nazarene, 278 Pleasant St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
