Jose Rosendo Sequeira da Cruz, 52, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 2, 2024

Born in Sao Vicente, Cabo Verde, he was the son of Candida de Sena Sequeira and the late Joao da Cruz. Jose had a life long dream of moving to the United States, a dream he achieved in January of 2024.

Jose liked hanging out with his friends, going to the beach, and fixing things. He was a very friendly and kind person with a big smile and was the family comedian. He loved riding motorcycles with his best friend.

Survivors include his mother; his daughter, Eleny Eny Rodrigues Sequeira da Cruz; his siblings, Eloisa Sequeira da Cruz, Celine Cruz Correia, Jose Pedro da Cruz, and Dulcineia Sequeira da Cruz; his nephews, Yuri Sequeira, Ridney Sequeira Soares, and Erany Sequeira Pina; his niece Mirza Sequeira Soares; his granddaughter Ayannah Sequeira; 6 aunts; and many cousins.

His visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 2-6 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with a Funeral Service being held in the Funeral Home on Monday, May 20th at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
