Joseph Carlesi

Joseph Carlesi, 93, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 12, 2026. He was the husband of Paula (Kilik) Carlesi for 66 years.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Louis and Mary (Laface) Carlesi, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed going to breakfast with his friends at McDonald's every morning. Joe worked for Giusti's bakery for 40 years. He also worked for Carlesi Brothers garage as a parts manager where he enjoyed working on the vehicles.

Survivors include his children, Mary Beth Francis and her spouse of Assonet, Beryl Oliveira and her spouse of Dartmouth, and Charlene Carlesi and her spouse of Wareham; his grandchildren, Stephanie Politano, Mitchell Oliveira, and Katelyn Francis.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Joanne Oliveira; and his siblings, Giovanni, Anthony, and Louis Carlesi, and Shirley Laughlin.

According to his wishes, private burial at Pine Grove Cemetery was held.
