Joseph Colangelo, 72, of Fairhaven passed away Friday September 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Angelo A. and Grazia "Grace" (Taggio) Colangelo, he lived in the New Bedford area all of his life.  He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and UMass Dartmouth.

Joseph was formerly employed as a computer analyst at Teknor Apex in Pawtucket, R.I. until his retirement.

In his younger days, he enjoyed weightlifting and built a reputation as the "Italian Stallion." He took great pride in his home and loved spending time with his family.  He was one of a kind.

He is survived by his daughters, LeeAnn Jupin and her husband Nicholas and Gina Aquilano and her husband John; five grandchildren, Abigail, Sam, Owen, Lillian, and Dominic; and his niece, Sophia Colangelo.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Antonio Colangelo and Peter Colangelo.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday September 26th at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be on Thursday September 25th from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.  For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
