Joseph H. Correia, 90, of New Bedford, died April 14, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Dorothy J. (Tavares) Correia.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Henrique and Margarida (Lopes) Correia, he lived in New Bedford all of his life. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. Correia was formerly employed as a technician at Aerovox.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the United Social Club.
Survivors include his wife; his son, David W. Correia of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Kathleen S. Correia, and brother of the late Walter Correia, Laura Fortes Correia, and Henry Correia, Jr.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
