Joseph F. "Jeffrey" Duarte, Jr., 52, of New Bedford passed away suddenly on Monday April 23, 2012.He was the husband of Angela (Lopes) Duarte.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Isabel (Burgo) Duarte of Middleboro and the late Joseph F. Duarte, he lived in Middleboro for most of his life.

Mr. Duarte was employed as an environmental engineer for Environmental Restorations in New Jersey.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1979-1984. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; his mother; three daughters, Danielle Ashley Duarte, Brandi Elmalli and her husband Abdul, and Courtney Duarte, all of New Bedford; two sisters, Gale Pires and Brenda Zaragoza, both of Wareham; several nieces and nephews; and his large extended family and co-workers.


His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
