Joseph S. "Zing" Jardin, Jr., 88, of New Bedford passed away Thursday November 7, 2024 at home after a long illness.  He was the husband of Argiro (Athanaeleas) Jardin.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph S. and Mary (Camara) Jardin, he lived in New Bedford all of his life. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Fisher Junior College.

Joe was formerly employed as a computer analyst at the Newport Naval War College for many years until his retirement.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958, and later in the Air Force Reserves for many years.  He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament Committee. He also loved sports, both as a participant and as a spectator.

He is survived by his wife Argiro; two daughters, Kristina Jardin and Karen Hall; and three grandchildren, Daphne, Myrto, and Elias Ziogas.

He was the father of the late Andrew Jardin, and brother of the late Hazel Rebello and Charlie Jardin.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 13th at 11 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 186 Cross Road, Dartmouth.  Visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 10-11 AM at the church.  Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.  For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
