Josephine (Pejko) Pelczar, 99, of Marion, formerly of New Bedford died Tuesday November 22, 2005 at Sippican Healthcare Center after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Pelczar.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Martin and Victoria (Kulpinski) Pejko, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a former communicant of St. Casimir Church and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Mrs. Pelczar and her late husband owned and operated the Palm Cafe in New Bedford for many years.
She was a former member of several Polish-American organizations in the area.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Joseph W. Pelczar of Mattapoisett; a daughter, Virginia J. Katsarsky of Mattapoisett; a sister, Alice Clifton of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Dr. Walter Pejko and Stasia Hintz.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett Friday November 25, 2005 at 7:45 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, North Front St., New Bedford at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday Novemebr 23, 2005 from 5-7 PM. There will be no visiting hours on Thursday. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
