Joyce E. Hickey, 68, of New Bedford died January 8, 2018 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Migneault) Hickey, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was a one of a kind mother who welcomed many children into her home.
Survivors include her 3 sons, Craig Hickey and Aaron Alves, both of Fall River and Brandon Alves of Brockton; 3 daughters, Lisa Roderick and her husband Arthur Roderick, Sr., Elizabeth Soares and Tabitha Pendergast, all of New Bedford; 2 brothers, George Hickey of Fall River and Bill Hickey of Pennsylvania; 15 grandchildren, Darsean Alves, Alejandra Collins, Isabella Alves, Lillanna Alves, Kendra Tavares, Kaitlyn Hickey, Tysean Soares, Devon Soares, Izaiah Brown, Manny Roderick, Arthur Roderick, Jr., Jacob Roderick, Justin Roderick, Connor Roderick and Ebony Alves.
She was the sister of the late Rita Burke and Eileen Rua.
