Juan Declet Santos, 70, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 30, 2025. He was the husband of Angelita Rivera for 54 years.

Born in Morovis, Puerto Rico, son of the late Juan Declet Otero and Eugenia Santos Rivera, he was raised in Puerto Rico before moving to Dorchester.

Juan was a loving and caring family man. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, working on cars, and going to horse races.

Juan worked as a mechanic for C&J Auto Repair and Collision Center in Roxbury for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Angelita; his children, Carmen Cintron and her partner Miguel, Richard Declet and his partner Leah, and Yajaira Declet and her partner Luis; his siblings, Orlando, Felipe, Rosita, Elizabeth, Cuca and Cuco; 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his daughter Margarita "Maggie" Declet.

His visitation will be held Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
