Juliette (Lapointe) Ouellette, 91, of New Bedford died Friday, December 20, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Robert J. Ouellette and the late Robert C. Soares.

Born and raised in New Bedford she was the daughter of the late Eliodore and Anna Marie (Proulx) Lapointe.

Julie was a long time communicant of Saint Julie's Parish in North Dartmouth and a 1951 graduate of Saint Anthony's High School of New Bedford. She retired from Bank of Boston, now Bank of America.

Survivors include her son, Douglas R. Soares and daughter-in-law Debra A. Johansen of Fairhaven; her stepson, Christopher R. Ouellette and his wife Gina and their children, Mirabelle and Nathaniel of California; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Ouellette and her daughter Pascal of the Netherlands; two sisters-in-law, Madeline Ouellette of Hawaii, and Ruth Ouellette of Hyannis; her brother-in-law, Edward Soares and wife Julane of Mattapoisett along with several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Julie was the sister of the late Roger J. Lapointe.

Her visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 8th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.  Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 9th at 11 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of one's choice.  For online guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
