June (McAlpine) Manchester-Goupil, 82, of New Bedford died July 13, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Walter G. Manchester, Jr. and Joseph Norman Goupil.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Lester M. and Flavella H. (Stebbins) McAlpine, she lived in Fairhaven many years before moving to Dartmouth and then to New Bedford.
June was formerly employed by Fairhaven Hardware for 20 years until retirement. In retirement she ran an antique store with her late husband Norman.
She enjoyed traveling around the world.
Survivors include 3 sons, Jeffrey Manchester of California, Daryl Manchester and his wife Patricia and Craig Manchester and his wife Carolyn, all of Fairhaven; a daughter, Candace Arabasz and her husband Mark of Destin, FL; a sister, Rosalie Gillum of Jacksonville Beach, FL; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 9 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 4-8 PM.
