Karen E. (Bieringer) Daener, 59, of East Wareham died January 23, 2004 at New England Medical Center after a long illness.

She was the former wife of Thomas R. Daener of Hyannis and daughter of the late Fred and Marion (Funke) Bieringer.

Mrs. Daener was born in Brooklyn, NY and had lived in Mattapoisett and East Wareham most of her life.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Wareham.

Mrs. Daener enjoyed reading and art.

Survivors include her former husband; a son, Thomas Robert Daener, Jr., and his wife Kathryn, of Marion; a daughter Kristen E. Daener of East Wareham; a brother, Paul Bieringer of Rochester; a grandson, Thomas Robert Daener, III of Marion; a niece, Amy Bieringer of Mattapoisett.

Her Funeral will be private.
