Kenneth J. Pina, 79, of New Bedford died Tuesday October 20, 2015 at home. He was the husband of Marie (Mosteiro) Pina.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Irene Pina, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Mr. Pina was formerly employed as a carpenter and mason.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Cape Verdean-American Veterans Association and the Merchant Mariner's Club.

Survivors include his wife; six children, Kenneth Pina, Jr., Mary Pina-Merkman, Kim Pina, Jamie Pina, Christy Pina, and Michael Pina; 16 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.


He was the father of the late Timothy John Pina.

His Funeral will be held on Monday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 9 AM.
