Kevin Bruce Jose, 38, of New Bedford, CEO and lead artist of DEMPT Music, passed away suddenly on Wednesday August 21, 2024. He was the loving son of Gladys Jose and the late Wulstan Joseph, and dear brother to Victoria, Nicholas, Patrick, Tania, Pasquel, Mary, Margret, Amy and Anthony. He also leaves his fiancée Nicole Oliveira and her daughter Ari'ella Mendes, and his nephew and niece, Emanuel and Mya.

Kevin graduated from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He served for eight years as the Chief Financial Officer for Maturing Gracefully in New Bedford. He was a talented writer of lyrical poetry. He loved rapping, music, fishing, motorcycles, archery, and drumming. He volunteered as a math tutor and counselor for many years at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth assisting students and the community abroad. He was a member of the Sigma Phi Rho Fraternity Incorporated and member of United Brothers and Sisters. He was well-known as a leader in the community, helping and guiding many to recovery.

Visitation with family will be held on Friday, August 30th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, MA. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday August 31st at 10:00 AM at St Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church, 565 County St., New Bedford. Interment to follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford. Following the burial service, a repast will be held at Cotali Mar Restaurante at 1178 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Floral donations can be sent to the funeral home.
