Kevin Dos Santos Lopes, 19, a loving son, a caring brother, and a loyal friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2025.

Kevin was born in Brava, Cape Verde, and later made his home in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Kevin was known for his calm presence, kind spirit and unwavering love.

Kevin was a recent High School graduate, where he proudly earned his diploma and began planning for a bright future. He aspired to become an electrician, a dream fueled by his strong work ethic and desire to build something meaningful for himself and his family.

Kevin had a deep passion for cars, often spending time researching them, admiring their design, and dreaming of what he would one day drive or build. He was also a young man who found happiness in the everyday moments, especially through his love of music and playing video games.

Kevin is survived by his devoted father, Olavo G. Lopes, and his supportive stepmother Ilda Pina Lopes; his loving mother, Ana Iza (Dos Santos) Rodrigues; his caring grandmother, Carlota Depina; and his cherished great-grandmother, Iditia Depina. He is also survived by his beloved siblings: Kiana Dacruz, Suely Lopes, Julio Lopes, Luis Lopes, and Jayvien Lopes; as well as many treasured aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Kevin's passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the broader Cape Verdean community. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the joy he brought will never be forgotten. May his memory continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 1st, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Saunders-Dwyer Funeral Home, 495 Park St, New Bedford, MA 02740. His funeral service will be held Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 at 10 a.m. in the Saunders-Dwyer Funeral Home, 495 Park St, New Bedford, MA 02740. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery 149 Dartmouth St., New Bedford, MA 02740
