Kevin Soares, 58, of New Bedford, Massachusetts passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Kevin is survived by his beloved daughter Kendra Soares and Kendra's mother, Patricia Monteiro of New Bedford; his sister, Sherri L. Moldaver and her husband Gary, of Randolph and their children, Kevin's two nephews, Michael Moldaver and Alex Moldaver and niece, Gabriella Moldaver; his aunts, Jewel Silva of Dartmouth, Geraldine Burgin of New Bedford, Margaux Rogers of Florida, and Carol and Julie Soares of New Bedford; his uncles, Daniel Rogers, Jr. and Kevin Silva, both of New Bedford; his cousins, Cory Silva, of Dartmouth, Kyla Virden of North Carolina, and Keturah Mitchell of Florida; and several other aunts, uncles, and second cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Audrey (Silva) Soares of New Bedford; his grandparents, Jose and Maria Soares of New Bedford and Daniel and Beatrice Rogers of New Bedford; his cousin, Mike Silva of New Bedford; his aunt, Carline Silva of New Bedford; his uncle, William Powell of Massachusetts; and his aunt, Debbie M. Mobiley of Taunton.
Kevin worked in the construction industry for 41 years first as a laborer and lastly as an excavator with several Boston based construction companies. Kevin had many passions. He was an avid cyclist who often competed in long-distance road races for charity, a talented, professional photographer, and a devoted car enthusiast. He cherished spending time in his garage, meticulously waxing and caring for his vehicles, always striving to keep them looking their very best. His perfect Sunday included a bike ride to the beach, followed by an afternoon working on his cars and beautifying his yard.
Kevin was a hard worker, level-headed, and wise beyond his years. He loved sharing his life experiences and advice with family and friends, offering thoughtful guidance whenever it was needed. He will be remembered for his kindness, calm demeanor, generous heart, gentle spirit, and, above all, his deep love for his family.
His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10AM in the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St., New Bedford, with everyone invited to meet directly at Church. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Friday, July 31st from 4-8PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
