Laura DeAndrade Baptista was born on November 27, 1936, in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, and left this earth peacefully on April 1, 2026.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph DeAndrade and Laura Pina DeAndrade; her siblings, Albert, Adeline, Antone, Isabel, and Arthur; and her beloved son, Charles Baptista.
Laura will be remembered for her kind heart, vibrant spirit, deep love for her family, and faith in God. She was full of life, love, and laughter, and she had a special gift for bringing joy to those around her with her wit, charm, and humor. She enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in healthcare, working in both radiology and healthcare management, where she made lasting contributions through her dedication and care.
Above all, Laura was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. As the youngest of her siblings, she proudly embraced her role as the matriarch of the family in the years following their passing. She cherished time spent with loved ones and often reminded her family of their Cape Verdean heritage, preserving traditions, stories, and values for generations to come.
Laura leaves behind a legacy of love, resiliency, and laughter. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Patrice Baptista and Caleb Baptista, as well as her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, all of whom will continue to carry her memory and legacy forward.
It is with saudade that we bid farewell to Laura as she leaves this earth, but never our hearts.
In accordance with Laura's wishes, services will be held privately. For online guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
