Lelia (Lomba) Goncalves, 85, of New Bedford passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday January 3, 2021.

She was the wife of the late Antonio M. Goncalves.

Born in Boston, daughter of the late Manuel and Helen (Rosario) Lomba, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.

Lelia loved spending time with her family cooking and enjoying the holidays. She worked at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, and was a proud catholic.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Antonio M. Goncalves and his wife Tina, Manuel Goncalves and his wife Jeana all of New Bedford, and Elizabeth Correia and her husband George of Warren, RI; her aunt Mary Barros; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Daniel Lomba, Maryanne Lomba, Joanne Lomba, and Bernice DeAndrade.
