Leonardo "Lenny" Santos

Leonardo "Lenny" Santos, 78, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday May 26, 2026.  Born on April 22, 1948, in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Manuel Santos and Mary (Cunha) Santos. 

Lenny worked for many years at Aerovox and Natco before his retirement.  He was a devoted husband to the late Susan (L'Heureux) Santos and dedicated much of his life to caring for her with patience, love, and unwavering dedication. 

Lenny found joy in the simple things in life. He loved following New England sports teams, fishing, gardening, and his beloved pups Neely and Brandy, and most of all, spending time with his family. His presence brought comfort and warmth to those around him, and he will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and generous heart. 

He was the father of Christopher Santos and the late Scott Santos. He is survived by his son, Christopher Santos and his wife Jaime; his grandchildren, Christopher and Alyssa; his sisters, Bertha, Barbara, and Elizabeth and her husband Peter; his nieces, Jennifer, Susan, and Carol; and his nephews, Darren and Ryan. 

Lenny's love for his family was constant and unconditional. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.

His funeral service will be held on Friday June 5th at 12 Noon at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visitation will be from 11AM - 12 Noon prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
