Leonor F. "Kitty" (Fernandes) Baptista, 82, of Berkley died February 25, 2025 peacefully at home.
She was the wife of the late Francisco "Frank" Baptista, Sr.
Born in Torres Vedras, Portugal, daughter of the late Jose Joaquim Fernandes and Emilia G. (Pereira) Fernandes and the adopted daughter of the late Jesse and Maria Guerra, she lived in Westport and Berkley most of her life.
She was formerly employed as a quality control inspector at Titleist for 37 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed watching her grandkids, cooking for the holidays, crossword puzzles, crocheting and trips to the casino.
Survivors include her 4 sons, Francisco Baptista, Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Danbury, NH, David Baptista and his wife Hannah of Fairhaven, Manuel Baptista and wife Sheri of Berkley and Christopher Baptista of Westport; a brother, Albert Santos; 2 sisters, Gloria Luis and Gracinda Lazaro; a step-brother, Nelson Guerra; a step-sister, Maria "Kelly" Patricio; 6 grandchildren, Mina, Katherine, Kristina, Holly, Tyler and Zachary; 9 great-grandchildren, Kamden, Annabelle, Kenidee, Kamilah, Isabella, Amelia, Christopher, Olivia and Kayda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Maria Emilia Fernandes, Joaquina Jesus and Vasco Santos.
Her visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 2nd from 2-5 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
