Leroy "Peanut" Fernandes, 79, of New Bedford died March 17, 2014 peacefully at Brandon Woods of New Bedford.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Manuel O. and Rose (Martin) Fernandes, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Survivors include his brother, Manuel "Jivey" Fernandes, Jr. of New Bedford; a sister, Victoria "Queenie" Gebo of DeBary, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His family will receive guests on Thursday morning from 9 - 10 AM prior to his service. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
