Lillian B. Araujo of New Bedford died Wednesday March 17, 2010 peacefully at home.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Jose R. and Maria (dos Santos) Araujo, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Miss Araujo was formerly employed as a registered nurse at Quigley Memorial Hospital in Chelsea until her retirement.

She was a 1974 graduate of Lasell College in Newton. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Assumption Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a sister, Mary C. Lima of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Frank, Minerva, and Peter Araujo.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 8 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
