Linda A. (Collins) Mareiro, 60, of Acushnet died unexpectedly on July 30, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her family.

Married to Mark A. Mareiro for 36 years and mother to Christopher and Nicole.

Born in Boston, daughter of George R. Collins of Fort Myers, FL and the late Patricia M. (Harris) Collins, she was raised in Wareham, lived in South Boston and resided in Acushnet most of her life.

Linda was a beloved lunch lady at Fairhaven High School for over 20 years. She enjoyed getting to know the students throughout her career. Many of them remembered her long after graduation. She would often tell us "They used to come through my line!"

Linda enjoyed spending time with the many friends she made throughout her lifetime. She cherished her time spent with her granddaughter, Juliet. Whether it was playing with Brody and Jack or the Target shopping cart or making music at the DJ table, Nana was there to play, laugh, and make memories.

Linda had an unlimited capacity to care for others. She was never one to shy away from striking up a conversation with a stranger or offering a ride to a friend in need.

Survivors include her husband Mark; her father George; a son, Christopher Mareiro and his wife Tania-Raquel of New Bedford; a daughter, Nicole Mareiro of Acushnet; her granddaughter, Juliet; two brothers, Brian Collins and his wife Kerry of Quincy and Jeffrey Collins and his wife Jennifer of Plymouth; her aunt, Claire "Peggy" Graham of South Boston; a niece and three nephews.

She was the sister of the late Keith Collins, Sr.

Her visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 3rd from 2-6 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. Mattapoisett. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th at 10 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Acushnet Cemetery.
