Linda "Windie" (Gomes) Pires, 60 of New Bedford died August 3, 2009 unexpectedly at home.
Born in Acushnet, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Gomes) Gomes, she was raised in Fairhaven and lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Survivors include 2 brothers, James Gomes, Jr. and William Gomes, both of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Margaret Lopes of Cranston, RI and Lena Barros of Carver; several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late LeRoy Gomes, Vasco Gomes, Joseph Gomes, Daniel Gomes and Robert Gomes.
