Obituary

Loretta C. (Monty) Chapman, 88, of Dartmouth died Thursday August 30, 2007 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility. She was the wife of the late Kenneth W. Chapman.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Anselme Monty and Mary Anne (Roy) Monty Bergeron, she lived in New Bedford most of her life before moving to Dartmouth 40 years ago.

She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.

Mrs. Chapman was formerly employed as an assembler at Rodney Metals.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean C. Taffe and her husband Joseph of Dartmouth; her daughter-in-law, Catherine Reedy of Scituate; six grandchildren, Patrick Taffe of Dartmouth, Michael Taffe of New Bedford, Christopher Taffe and his wife Wendy of Roslindale, Karen Reedy, Seamus Reedy, and Colin Reedy, all of Scituate; two great-grandsons, Ryan and Aidan Taffe; and a special extended family member, Mary Bolton and her family.

She was the mother of the late James P. Reedy, stepdaughter of the late Samuel Bergeron, and sister of the late Ovila A. Monty, Joseph Raymond Monty, Omer Albert Monty, Joseph Philip Monty and Joseph Norman Bergeron.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:45 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
