Lorraine J. "Yiyie" (Duarte) Costa-Burnham, 66, of New Bedford died September 24, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Clara Duarte and Anibal Montrond, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Lorraine was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
She enjoyed the last few years as a foster grandparent at P.A.C.E. and was formerly employed at Isotronics for many years until its closing.
Lorraine was a former member and treasurer of the Y.A. Club. She enjoyed being home with her family.
Survivors include her son, Roy Costa of New Bedford; a daughter, Linda Willis of New Britain, CT; a sister, Sharon Halloman of New Bedford; an aunt, Rose Almeida of New Bedford; several cousins including Sonny Almeida of New Bedford who was like her brother; 5 grandchildren, Ashley, Jordan, Darius, Jocelyn and Roy, Jr.; 2 nephews, Corey and Joel.
She was the sister of the late Lucille Duarte.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Thursday, September 27th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday, September 26th from 4-7 PM.
